40-Hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training
September 22 @ 6:00 pm - October 1 @ 5:00 pm
Are you interested in volunteering for the Domestic Violence Center? Join our 40-hour training beginning on September 22, 2017 to learn the skills necessary to advocate for the rights and needs of abuse victims in your community.
Per state evidence code 1037.1, California requires that all volunteers working in the Domestic Violence field take a 40-hour training to work within a DV shelter or provide peer and group counseling to victims of domestic violence. Our center offers an annual training each September, at a cost of $150 per attendee.
Each attendee must fill out a volunteer application (instant download), and pay a $20 background check fee. Additionally, a non-refundable deposit of $75 is due with registration. Please mail or drop off both the application and the fees directly to our outreach office.
We ask that registrants RSVP by September 15, 2017. Please call our outreach office at (661) 259-8175 or email Darlene at firstname.lastname@example.org to begin your registration process.
